Developing Dental Educators Course New Educators.

Developing Dental Educators course – is mandatory for all new Educational Supervisor applicants. Attendance on one of the HEIW 4-day courses is an essential requirement for all new ESs who do not hold an alternative Post Graduate qualification in Medical or Dental Education acceptable to HEIW.

The course has been run successfully for several years by Katy Newell Jones and has received excellent feedback

Katy has decided that the time has come to retire, so the course in May-June will be her last. We are very grateful to Katy for her input over the years. Katy has kindly allowed her material to remain at our disposal and this can be developed further by the new programme which will provide succession.

HEIW made the decision to recruit new educators to deliver the replacement course from the now large pool of Dentists that have educational qualifications, both in DFT and Dental School.

This should have the added advantage of directly relevant dental context being embedded in the theoretical aspects of the programme. We look forward to working with our new educators.

New DDE course will run during the second half of 2023 and dates will be issued.

DDE Revision Course. This one-day revision session is a useful re-cap for all ESs who have completed the main course and is recommended every three years. This course will resume after September 2023
