Dental Core Training is a non-compulsory period of approved training that aims to provide dentists with the opportunity to consolidate skills acquired during their foundation year and develop and enhance new skills in specific areas of clinical practice and in different environments. Satisfactory completion of 2 years Dental Core Training will also meet minimum entry requirements to specialty training. Each stage/level of Dental Core Training lasts 12 months and there are up to 3 stages in total, DCT1, DCT2 and DCT3.
